Sing Girl! – Time Travel to Artist Home Erkkola
6.6.-24.9.2023 Artist Home Erkkola
The exhibition focuses on the life of poet Johan Henrik Erkko (1849–1906) and especially his time in Tuusula (1901–1906). The exhibition is part of a collaborational Time Travels project inbetween Finnish artists´ home museums. Author and theatre professional Katja Väänänen has written fictional scenes for the exhibition which are presented in audio format. The exhibition includes artworks by Erkko’s friends and contemporaries, contextualizing his life in Tuusula. The title of the exhibition derives from a poem "Laula, tyttö!"(1898) by J. H. Erkko.
